Arrived in LA October 4th. We stayed at Marina Del Ray Marina, which wasn't very far from Venice by bike (we purchased folding, electric Brompton bikes which we love!) We had a blast checking out Venice, the beach, the shops, the restaurants. Venice Beach is definitely an eccentric place, but in a good way. Lots of cool murals throughout the town, see picture posted on this post. It is definitely quintessential California! Leaf and Paige flew in on the 8th and we showed them the area by scootering and biking down the beach from Venice Beach to Santa Monica. We went to dinner right in Venice. Took off for Newport Beach early the next morning. The weather has been nice and warm and sunny!
