Hiking has been a big part of our mornings since we have arrived at Puerto Escondido. The hiking here is fantastic. Today we hiked Mesquite Canyon, about 30 minutes from our marina with Hilda, Deanna and our two guides Edgar and Camilo. It was beautiful, red rock with a river running through the canyon. Due to the water source there was a lot of green plants, including palm-like trees down below. We had to wade through water to get through the trail, which for Hilda was even more of  a challenge since it went up to her waist (she is 5 feet tall). We also had to do some rock climbing which was a bit scary but the rope helped!
